After escaping to London at the start of WW2, Eva makes a name for herself across the underground jazz clubs. On the night of her largest performance yet as ‘Eva Hummingbird & the Maestros’, her Dutch refugee status is discovered. With no other option, she's forced to become a British double agent. She masters morse code and is sent to work undercover in Paris as a secretary. But amidst the backdrop of war she longs to be back on stage, performing her music with her beloved rebels and misfits of society... Paris, 1940, is where her story of quiet rebellion currently unfolds...
Eva Hummingbird is the 1940s composer, violinist, singing alter ego of Ceskie.
With a composition style rooted classical tradition, she fuses her compositions with influences from RnB and jazz. She uses humming as a method rebellion: even when words are too dangerous, feeling does not lie. Her sound is distinctively emotive: each piece paints a cinematic scene from Eva's world, inviting us to her bring her universe to life...

Ceskie - pronounced "Chess-kii"- infuses 16 years of classical and contemporary music industry experience - performing, writing, producing and mixing - into her work.
​
She is a highly sought after as a string arranger, songwriter and violinist, having written, arranged, performed and produced music globally, for major artists and producers. This includes Kehlani, Latin Grammy winner Alex Cuba, Ed Sheeran, Pa Salieu, Maiah Manser, Vibe Chemistry and with major producers whose credits include Beyonce, Drake, Doja Cat, Stormzy, Lil Wayne, Victoria Monet. She has also played and recorded with artists such as Jacob Collier, Full Crate and Lizzie McAlpine.

She's written and recorded for film, performed with classical orchestra and pop string sections across Europe and the USA in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, MIT's Kresge Auditorium, Bridgewater Hall, BSO Symphony hall and performed solo at a private event for Prince William.

She studied violin and composition at conservatory - Chethams School of Music - from age 11. At 13, she was discovered and mentored by Anne Shih (contemporary of Joshua Bell), the last teaching assistant of Josef Gingold. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in 2020, as a producer, songwriter and arranger, with a scholarship-funded B.M. Professional Music degree focused on Music Engineering & Production and Songwriting.

Due to Covid, she had a Boston DJ residency cut short, instead returning to the UK after graduation. Although quarantine was spent isolated in the countryside, she established herself as a leading pop string arranger within a year. Her alter ego, Eva Hummingbird - a 1940s spy and violinist - was created to showcase this side of her artistry. Presented as a multi-media story told via Instagram, this led to many established, grammy winning producers seeking to work with her. She is currently based in London, however travels regularly, alongside working virtually with producers across the globe. ​

The song 'Text Me When You Get Home', written with Full Crate featuring Lola Vialet and UHMEER was recently featured in a short movie for the Chevron Collection, feat. Michael B Jordan.

She features as a producer on Vibe Chemistry's latest album release, 'Dopamine', reaching at #13 on the Beatport charts.

Ceskie was signed as one of 10 featured artists by Epidemic Sound in 2024. She has been commissioned to write her debut album under Eva Hummingbird, due to be released end of 2025.​
